I started this post almost 2 months ago, but I could not write it. I did not want to think about what our life will be like. I had to take some time to get used to the new new.
We lost our beloved older husky, Zeus on December 20, 2016. Back in November, he started acting differently. Zeus was getting worse. I do not want to get into all the details. I want to remember him as he was prior to this time. My side kick! We decided to have him put down. God, I hate that phrase. We wanted him to go where he would not have to survive anymore....to Rainbow Bridge where he can run around with other huskys and others. Zeus was in so much pain. You could see it in his eyes.
This blog has a z in the link. It is named after the kids and the 2 huskys (Bx3+2). I am not changing the name or changing the photo I have. I want us to remember what a great dog Zeus was and how he touched others he met.
If you are thinking of how Bolt has been doing, well.....At first he was looking for Zeus. He saw Shawn and I leave with him that morning. We did not bring him home. Bolt looked everywhere for him. I think he still does. Now Bolt has been a little destructive. Tearing up food wrappers, papers, etc. He is bored. Not used to being the only dog. Bolt has always had Zeus.
I miss Zeus every day. I miss having him at my feet. Miss him following me everywhere. I miss his howling at me.
Hug your dog. Let them know how much you love them. Enjoy the time you have with them.
