Sewing Masks

I started sewing masks back in July.  I use the pattern by Jennifer Maker, but I use the file for my Cricut Maker.  When I started sewing masks, I did it just like Jennifer did her masks except for the ribbon around the head.  I did not like how the mask fell down my head so I sewed the ribbon onto the mask.  With more I made, that part changed.  I sew the ribbon in a D shape and cut off the extra ribbon I don't use.

I only sew the top & bottom of the mask.  I leave the 2 ends not sewn.   This is now different from when I first started sewing masks.  I would leave the left end open, put the ribbon inside the mask from the right side then sew around the mask in a left sideways U shape.

Turn the fabric right side out.  I add the wire.  With Ethan's masks, I sew the wire into a piece of leftover fabric then add that to the inside of the mask.  I fold the ends into the mask leaving the ribbon out.  Then, I sew the ends together.

I brought a new sewing machine from Walmart.  The price has gone up from $76 to $199.95.  My other little machine was a Shark by Euro Pro X.  I love my new machine!!
