Covid 19 Part 4

Well, Same ole same ole! Right? We got an email on December 2 that said the elementary kids (K-6th grade) would go back to live instruction on December 10 & the secondary kids would go Hybrid Cohort on December 14.  We got two more emails.   Some parents felt they want to stay remote learning until after the holidays.  The second email was about the plans for Dec 10 & 14 being put on hold because of the head of our hospital said to remain remote learning for the week of December 7-11 & another email for the week of Dec 14-18 would come out sometime this week.  Most of the time it is on Fridays.

Well, we received that email & it was what I thought it would be----> Remote Learning (you knew that too!)  Our Christmas break was to start on December 23, but now starts after the kids get out of Friday, the 18th of December, which I am happy about (another email on the reason).

A question for those doing remote learning: Are you having issues with Google?  Google Meets?  We are!!!  I am so sick of that.

I almost forgot.  Our Governor (I am in PA) has done a temporary mitigation measures that will go into effect Saturday, December 12 and remain in place until 8 a.m. on January 4.

▪️ Starting Saturday, indoor dining will be suspended. Outdoor dining, take-out food service, and take-out alcohol sales may continue.
▪️ Indoor gatherings and events of more than 10 people are prohibited.
▪️ Outdoor gatherings and events of more than 50 people are also prohibited.
▪️ In-person businesses that serve the public will be able to operate at 50% of maximum capacity — except as limited by existing orders to a smaller capacity limit.
▪️ Indoor operations at gyms and fitness facilities will be suspended.
▪️ In-person, indoor businesses in the entertainment industry that serve the public will close. This includes casinos, movie theaters, museums, bowling alleys, and more.
▪️ We’re pausing sports for K-12 students and club, travel, recreational, intermural, and intramural sports. In-person, extracurricular school activities are suspended but may be held virtually.
▪️ Professional and collegiate sports may continue in accordance with guidance from the
CDC
and
Pennsylvania Department of Health
. Spectators may not attend these events in person.

So, when the kids return to school after the break, they are to go back to the plan I mentioned at the beginning of this post- Elementary kids go back in person 5 days a week & Secondary kids go back to school in a hybrid cohort schedule (2 days a week in school & every other Friday).  We will see.  I don't think they will go back until Jan 11 or 18.
