I used regular acrylic paint and it would not stay on the glass so I brought chalkboard paint. I haven't painted the second coat yet. Then, when I do the third coat, I may just finish it with the red & blue acrylic paints. I need to figure out how to do the stars. I can not find a stamp of a star. Any ideas? I think I have an idea, but not sure if it will work.
When I decided that the centerpieces were going to be mason jars that would be painted, I found out how to paint the jars, but nothing really about how big the photos could be, but before that, what about the painting? I did some research on the photos for mason jars. I cut the size of the stars I wanted. Then, I measured the size of the 2 photos I would print. Those 2 sizes are wallets & 3.5x5 inches. Then, I placed them into the stars. Wallets it is!!
To seal or not to seal with Mod Podge? I do not think I will seal the mason jars. These are for Noah's going away party. I may keep a few around the house after the party, but I think I will have more than 30. I think we will have 12 tables. Not sure if that will include the food table and the table that cards & the encouragement notes. I'm thinking 2 smalls and 1 large per (eating) table. I have 13 larges, 3 medium, & 21 small ones mason jar. Each time will have a large & small mason jar. The 3 medium ones will be at the cards/encouragement note table. I forgot about the cake table, which will have 1 small one.
Here are all of the mason jars with the second coat all done:
