This site has some good information about Back to School. It also has a webinar. I hope I spelled that right. I watched it. I got some good ideas, but I was already doing some of it like the household binder, & calendar. The idea of an education station I love. I am going to take an empty can. Not a small one, but a bigger one. I will decorate it. Then, add pencils, & glue sticks to it. The kids' crayons are in those plastic pencil cases. They can go get that when I get the decorated pencil can. I will also keep a pair of their scissors in it. Here is an example of this! Not sure what I will do for this.
I also love the D.E.W. (Dishes Eat Wash) in the morning. Do the dishes, Eat-Choose meals, Wash- Do the laundry. I love the Evening Routine: SSS (triple S routine). Straighten up, Start the Dishwasher, Set for Tomorrow. I don't have a dishwasher. I unload the dish drainer in the morning. I ready everything ready the night before. Make sure they have any signed papers they need. On Sundays, I will get their week clothes altogether (read below about this).
Another idea I love from the webinar is to get the kids prepared for school by visiting it. Ashleigh saw her new school. Noah saw his new school in May, but next week we will be visiting it again to get him prepared. I think this is really important for kids entering into Kindergarten. Noah was so afraid to go to school. It did help for him to have his sister there. He saw the old school many times with Ashleigh, but we never did take a tour of it. I learned from that. His new school said if he needs to visit again before school starts, then he can. We have his room # & teacher's name now. I have forms to add in along with Noah's fast acting inhaler. I will bring him with me when I drop them off! =)

• Family binder to hold all of the reference info coming home from school.
I did not hear of the "family binder" until I was on the iheartorganizing blog. I did a blog entry on our Household Binder or a Family Binder. I have all ready gathered all the important information that I need to fill out that paperwork. If I am missing anything, then I can write it in there & it will help me next year.We all know that once the first day of school is over, our kids will bring home tons of paperwork for us to fill out. Not looking forward to that at all!
• Clothing and supplies shopping.
Are you done with school shopping? I ordered the backpacks & lunch bags earlier in the summer. I got them through this website. They had a penguin backpack & matching lunch bag for Noah. I searched the internet & found out the best price was with World of Bags. Ash got the butterfly backpack & matching lunch bag. I am hoping these with last 2 years.
Clothes shopping started in 3 trips. 2 for clothes & 1 for shoes & haircuts. I went to the clearance racks at Target then Kohl's. Today we finished everything with their haircuts & shoes. Have you realized that tie shoes are hard to find? Almost every shoe was Velcro. I hate that. How can I teach Noah to tie his shoes if there are no tie ones he likes? Noah was lucky enough to find a nice sneaker that is blue.
School supplies was brought when I went to Target to start clothes shopping. I am not sure what they need, but I got crayons, glue sticks, & notebooks for their spelling words that we keep here.
I have their clothes already washed & hang up. Noah has the first 6 days picked out. Shirt & shorts! I have Ashleigh's almost done. I got these cute print outs for hangers (I may have the link for this on the Household Binder blog entry. They have a monkey in them). I added the days to them. I will add them once I get Ash's all done. I have these hang above our dryer. Across from our dryer, I have this small bookcase. It is actually a hutch for a desk. It works perfect for me using those bins in it. I have 2 bins on top of this bookcase. One for Ashleigh & One for Noah. I will keep socks, underwear, & jeans in here. In Ashleigh's bin, I will keep her swimsuit & her towel. She will be going swimming every Monday. I will tell my husband my plan for this, too!

• Go through kids' clothing before shopping and remember to donate what doesn't fit to Goodwill.
I went through Noah's clothes, but not yet Ashleigh's. I only buy them for the first week of school. I add to their clothes & I do not do a whole closet of clothes. I also have an old backpack, 1 that is brand new, plus a swim suit of Ash's that is too small to add to our grown out pile.
Creating routines:
• Create a routine for managing the paper that comes in-trays are "limiting containers" that help you with schoolwork papers
I am not sure where I will put this yet, but I will figure this out before they go back to school. I normally have them put it in the file cabinet, but I am not sure yet. I know where all the important papers are going. I use the Wonderfile to keep important papers in. I am also going to use our household binder, too. The binder is new to us this school year so I am not sure how to do the important papers. Maybe put them into the binder & the other papers in the Wonderfile.
• Weekly planning is recommended on Sundays to go over these five "Cs":
1. Calendar (review calendars for the week with your spouse)
I have our weekly calendar up on our chalkboard wall. I have everything that we need to do on there. I love this chalkboard wall! I also have our dry erase monthly calendar. It has nothing on it right now. I am going to put next week up on the Chalkboard wall & then put September on it with the last week of August.
I will also be painting a door that is close to the chalkboard wall with chalkboard paint. I want to put our rules on here along. I may put on there weekly cleaning days (MWF- Vacuum, TTh- Dust, etc). Let the kids draw on here, too, under what I put up.

2. Carpool (make sure everyone has rides and know who is doing what)
Both of my kids are going to new schools so we don't carpool or never had in the past.

3. Cooking (what is for dinner this week, what's the grocery list)
I will be doing this. I need to work on this before they go back to school. I want to do a monthly menu planner. Having 2 different versions.

4. Chores (who is cooking, who is cleaning)
We know who is cooking, etc. It depends on the item. Like chicken is me. Steak/pork chops is my husband. We will continue with the kids' chores, too. Ash cleans up the table after dinner. Noah feeds the dogs. He also helps me to get the dogs outside.

5. Children (review needs for sitters, who is doing bedtime/bathtime and helping with homework)
We don't have sitters. We will be adding in the bath nights to our calendar. Bath night for Noah is the night he has soccer practice. I am hoping I can do Ashleigh's bath night the next night or the night before Noah.
The kids know the routines before & after school.
Before school, the kids have a print out what they need to do on their wall near their light switch.
Get shoes on
Ashleigh will be getting up earlier than Noah since she is to be at school by 7:35a & Noah has to be there by 8:45a I think. His bus time is at 8:36a. We don't live far from his new school at all.
After school, I have another print out on the back of the front door.
Unpack backpacks--> give mom any papers from your folders
Unpack lunch bags & put everything where it belongs.
Do homework
Snack
R.O.C.K. (Reading Often Creates Knowledge) Reading time
Dinner
Bedtime Routine is something we need to redo a little bit. Sunday, August 22nd, we are starting back to school bed times. Should be a lot of fun!!

Another good site to get Back to School ideas is Cozi.
Think about an emergency plan and who to contact
I think I know who are emergency contacts are. I will have to call & make sure that is ok with them again this year. We have these colored cards that I have to fill out & give to them. If they have these cards, then they can pick up our child. If not, then no.
Just want to put this in here to remain myself what I may have to do the First week.
