Inspiring Others

I believe special needs kids inspires others.  I believe that special needs kids will be friends with anyone.  That do not care if any child has anything wrong with them.  All they want is a friend.  They see pass the disability.  I wish some adults would.

As a mom to a special needs daughter, I am always afraid of others making fun of my daughter.  Those comments can hurt me, but most importantly my daughter.  I know my daughter will inspire others.  She has inspire me.

Today when I was on my Facebook account, I saw something that inspired me.  Click HERE to see it, too.  A waiter, Michael Garcia, refused to wait on a customer because he wanted to move away from a family, who has a son,Milo Castillo, that has Down Syndrome.  The boy is so cute.  What kind of man is he?    What is he teaching his children?

My favorite part of the website of what Michael Garcia said is the following:

“I heard the man say, ‘Special needs children need to be special somewhere else,’” Garcia told NBC affiliate KPRC-TV in. “My personal feelings took over, and I told him, ‘I’m not going to be able to serve you, Sir.’”

“‘How could you say that?’” Garcia said he asked the man before he left the restaurant with his party. “‘How could you say that about a beautiful 5-year-old angel?’”

Kim Castillo is Milo's mom.  From the website, I agree with Kim when she said on the website ""She hopes that the story of Garcia’s kindness will lead to greater tolerance for others, especially for those like Milo, who look different than other kids."  I hope others will follow Michael's actions.

If you are an adult & do not have a special needs child, please treat them with respect.  If you are a mom or a dad of a special needs child, bless you.

Melissa
