Going Home

Noah started soccer practice Wednesday night. The soccer association we use is not the one close to home, which is the soccer association we used in our old neighborhood (I will refer this as Old).  Noah loves them.  They have this great attitude to have fun and enjoy playing soccer.  The one at home has a different attitude than this one(I will refer this as Home). Noah won’t play there because the kids don’t bring you in. I am not sure how to describe it.

Let me tell you what happen Wednesday night. Noah is U14 now. He hasn’t played since he was U10. I couldn’t get him here with only one vehicle. Now we can. The coach introduced everyone. He said Noah was here a few years ago and he is back. Noah said that his one friend, Cullen, said I remember Noah and he introduced Noah to everyone. They took him in. All of them are friends now.

When Noah was done with practice, I asked how did it go? Noah said it is like coming home.  The kids didn’t treat him like an outsider like the home soccer association kids did.  Each of these soccer associations are in different towns.  They are about 35 minutes apart.

Noah said (the town’s name) kids are friendlier than (our town’s name). (For privacy, I did not use these 2 town's names).  He used the town where this soccer association is to described himself. I told him he’s now a town’s name (where we live now) kid. He said ‘no, mom i will always be the town where he grew up kid.   It’s like we came home.

Noah is really excited to be playing soccer again and that is all that matters.
