So.... where I left off from my last update, our stay at home order was to April 30. Yes, it was extended again, but to May 8. In PA, our governor has 3 stages- Red, yellow, & green. In the Red phrase, everything is closed. In the yellow, somethings are reopened. In the green phrase, everything is open. It seems like the counties that were hit at the beginning on the east side of the state are still in the red phrase. We moved from Red to Green on May 15. We have to wear masks anytime we are out in stores. I can not stand the mask on my face because of my asthma. I do wear one, but I have to breathe fresh air every so often to keep an asthma attack from happening.
The kids are handling this a lot better than in the beginning. How are you to explain something like this when you have never gone through this before especially as a child? I believe that technology saved my children a lot during this time. Does anyone else believe that? Netflix & Disney+ are helpers in the boredom department.
School was to be out on June 5, I think, but now we are done this Friday. Thank God!! I am already done & so is Ethan. Getting him to work on his school assignments has been a battle with him. It goes back to his teacher and how he feels about her. I think his teacher last year was so good that Ethan now compares his teachers to his 4th-grade teacher. I was worried at the beginning of 4th grade, but his teacher was awesome. I had nothing to worry about last year, but I did this year. I have sent an email to the 2 principals telling them the entire story behind Ethan's not wanting to do his work & considers with the new school year in the fall. Ethan is better when he is in an actual building with kids around him than at home on the computer.
Stay Safe!
