Project: Ethan's Teacher's Gift

Ethan came to me sometime last week & said "I want to make my teacher a gift."  I had a few things for Ethan to decide what he wanted to give his teacher.  A reverse canvas, a wooden sign, or a bag.  Well, Ethan decided on this blue jean bag I found on clearance at Joann's for $2.47.  It was the only one at my store.  I went searching for an svg that we could put on the bag.  We wanted to tell this teacher thank you for the past year.

The svg I found had a word misspelled.  I could not give a bag with a misspelled word in the svg to a teacher, who is also a librarian so I decided to make the svg myself.  I went to the font site to look for a few fonts.  I chose Quicksand, which is this font on here and has become a favorite font of mine.  I already had Bradley Hand ITC for the word Teacher & the teacher's name on the backside.  I also tried pink glitter iron-on instead of the red, but it would not stick to the bag so I gave up on it and used the red iron-on.

Last year I found the Best Teacher Ever notes and the pens, but we never gave them to Ethan's teacher.  Long story there!  So, they are all in this bag for his teacher.

I am loving having a Cricut Maker!!  I want to start using it more.  I want to do a welcome sign.  I brought stencil vinyl so I can paint the letters onto the wood.  That is my next project.

Did you do any teacher's gifts this year?  Ethan & I normally add a book or two to the school library, but he wanted to do more for this teacher.  For the next school year, Ethan goes to one of the high schools.  It is so sad he is leaving this school.
