I can not believe it is July already. Before you know it, the kids will be back in school. =) This school year will be so busy with Ashleigh in 5th grade & Noah in 1st grade. Add in the 3 therapists. Life will be crazy. If Noah has book reports, Ashleigh wants me to talk to her teacher to see if she can do them, too. With her having an IEP, she doesn't do a lot of the things the non special education things. We are working on R.O.C.K. reading for the summer, which we will continue in the fall. We won't know where Noah's classroom is until closer to the start of the school year (September 1st).
Ashleigh has been doing well. There has been some bad days. She has her rheumatologist and her CP dr appointments coming up. Her neurologist's office was to call me with her appointment because they didn't have the July schedule up. I called in June. I am calling tomorrow (actually today). She has been in the wrap around program since Ethan was about 6 weeks old. She has had her ups & downs. Ashleigh is learning to tell us when she has pain. It is working. Over the weekend, she told me instead of screaming. We are using ice packs instead of meds. When we are out it is Tylenol. Ashleigh's reading is behind. I am working with her. We will be reading a book about Tinkerbell plus another one on Hannah Montana. Well, the Hannah book we already started.
Noah's asthma is under control. He is taking the correct medications. Tomorrow I need to call his asthma doctor to get his precriptions since our health insurance changed. Our mail in is different. I always use the mail in for Noah's prescriptions. Noah finished soccer & will be signed up for fall soccer. He will be having practice on a weekday & the game is on Saturday mornings. It will be a year in the fall that he started playing soccer. Noah has gotten really good. He also has wanted to learn to play basketball, but I can't find somewhere to take him that offers it for his age. It is for kids older than him. Noah is looking forward to being a first grader & to me volunteering in his class again.
Ethan is such a joy. He has started copying Ashleigh & Noah. Like for breakfast, he has to have whatever they have. Ashleigh loves parmesan cheese on her spaghetti. Ethan has to have it, too. Ethan adores his big brother. He has been taking Noah's toys. Noah hates it. With Ethan watching Noah playing soccer since fall, 2009, he plays now, too, with his brother. They love to play soccer together. So cute to watch. For a 1 year old, Ethan is pretty good. We have another soccer player on our hands!! In the last couple days, Ethan playing habits has changed. We got him this Dump truck. It is also a truck that he can ride on. So, he has been riding on it. Remember it is a Dump truck. He keeps all of his cars, trucks, etc in it. When he wants to ride on it, all of these cars are all of floor. He also has started taking all of his toys out of his playpen. It is only in 1 spot that he puts his toys. Up along the wall. His playpen is up along this half wall that is between the living room & dining room. His playpen is in the dining room. Ethan has also started playing with his toys in his toy box. Taking them out of his toy box. The floor looks like a hurricane (we will call it hurricane "Ethan") came through. Add in whatever Ashleigh & Noah brings out from their room, too.
Until next time,
Mel
