Yesterday a friend & I took our kids to our Aviary! We had a lot of fun. My husband & I have a family membership because our oldest boy, Noah, loves Penguins! Well, so does our youngest boy, Ethan! Ever since Noah saw Happy Feet in the theater, he has been a HUGE penguin fan>>>>as in the animal & not the hockey team. He does like the hockey team, too. When Noah read of a hockey team called the Penguins, he thought they were real penguins & he was so disappointed. He was so young then. So anyway, at the Aviary they have penguins. Of course, we are there for a long time, but yesterday we were not. They home is outside & you can see them from inside & outside. It was cold out there. Plus the penguins were not in the water a lot.
After the Aviary, we had lunch at McDonald's. I had to pick up something at the Dollar Tree. I had this vase that I had a candle in it. A fat short candle with sand & shells. Ethan broke the vase. I had to replace the vase because it had pointy sharp edges. The one I brought is not the same size, but smaller & the candle won't fit into it. I am thinking of putting a smaller red candle in it. Maybe not red now. It was the centerpiece of my table. I need to add more sand & shells to it. I collected them at our visits to the ocean. You see shops sell items like that. You know sand & shells in a bottle. I have 3 of those here. I painted where I collected the sand & shells on the bottle. Why pay for that when you can do it yourself? A bottle of same kind from the Dollar Tree, paint the name of the place where you collected then, then add the sand & shells.
After the Dollar Tree, we came to our house. Noah lost a ds game. I looked on our book case. I have the older 2 games in baskets there. They have the Vsmile, but I have those games in a old lunch box (great for this). The Didj games in their cases are in a basket. Noah has the Leapster 2 so those games are in their cases in a basket, too. All the Wii games are in a basket, too. No ds game there. I caught Ethan in the bag Noah has his loose ds games. I found 2 that he had in his hands, but I did not know where he put the 3rd one until we realized there was missing. These ds games are so small. My friend was here to help me look for it. The Vsmile, Didj, & Leapster games I have a library system with them to keep track, but not with the ds games. My library system is V1, etc for Vsmile, L1, etc for Leapster, D1, etc for Didj. Noah's xbox games has this system, too, because he has over 20 games. They are X1, etc. This has helped me keep track of all of their games. I think I need to do this with their ds games. The Vsmile games are the only ones I have this system labelled onto the game. We did find the ds game........in the TOYBOX. Ethan did take it!
My friend saw the items I redid- the coat hanger, put up the school pics, the 3 rectangle pictures, our "G". She loved them all. Eventually, it was time for us to leave. I dropped my friend & her 2 kids off at her house then went to get my husband from work.
We got home, & had dinner (spaghetti). Shawn helped me to get the kids their snacks & meds so they could all go to bed. I got ready for bed, took a stronger pain med than I normally do & I was out within 1-2 hours of taking it. I was in so much pain that I had no clue, but to take this med. I am the one that likes to stay away from pain meds, but the pain in my back was too bad.
Todays we are watching movies, resting, playing the ds (don't lose your games Noah!), & I will work on getting ready for the week later. I need to get pictures up here.
Until next time,
Melissa
