Ashleigh.....

Wow, I have not mentioned anything that has been going on here.  We started a new program for Ashleigh in the beginning of August called Family Based.  We have 2 therapists that comes into our home for not only Ashleigh, but all of us.  It has been really hard the last several months for Ashleigh's behaviors.

Ashleigh has a diagnosis of Disruptive Behavioral Disorder, Spastic Paraparesis, PVL, & Depression.  She lives in pain daily.  She is 12.  She is too young to know what pain is, having problems dealing with her pain & that she has this disease that is not going to get better (Spastic Parapesis) so she acts out (Disruptive Behavioral Disorder).

Shawn & I had to look up 2 different areas to our house- our room & the basement over the last several months at different times.  We keep anything we do not want Ashleigh to have.  She has a habit of hoarding different items that she is not to have.  Ash will waste shampoos, etc, too.  I am in the process of reorganizing our room & basement in order to hold the extra items.

Since August, we think Ashleigh could have Asperger's.  She has a lot of the symptoms, but my brother had her for a week & he is the one that noticed it first.  He has worked with kids with autism.  Ashleigh's afraid of loud noises has gotten a lot worse since September.  It was only lawnmowers & motorcycles, but now it is every loud noises. It is even the boys playing that will get Ashleigh going.  She does not like loud noises.  When Ash is over loaded, she will go to the floor & have a fit or a melt down.  Any changes sends Ashleigh over the edge or close to the edge.

I am not sure what else to say.  In the last month or so, things has not improved, but gotten worse.  Some days worse than others.  Ashleigh takes items from rooms.  It is even from the boys.  It is sad, but we know she can not help it.  Ash does not take items from stores.

If anyone can tell me about Asperger's, please do.  We are lost.  I have found a place to help us.  I will be calling.  I am not sure with Thanksgiving being this week if they are in.  I need to get an appointment soon.  If Ash gets this diagnosis, I know there are a few blogs I have been following that I will be asking some questions.

Thanks for reading.
Melissa
