I can not believe that I took the kids out today to start our back to school shopping. This summer is going too fast. It was so hot out today, too. End of July already!
With 3 kids in school this coming school year, I did not want to wait until the last minute. I did that one year a few years back. This year Ashleigh is going to the high school so I wanted to plan better for her. Noah is going to a new school & Ethan is off to preschool a few days a week. (What will I do? =) I know what I will do & I will share in time)
For backpacks, the older 2 I brought those for their birthdays! I got them online through Zulily. I got them for a great price. Ashleigh got a horse backpack with a horse lunch bag. Noah got a Pittsburgh Penguin backpack since he loves penguins! Noah wants a lunch bag of the Pittsburgh Penguins, too, so I need to order that from Amazon within a week or two. I have ordered several items for Zulily. Love this site. For their birthdays, Ashleigh & Noah got more than just these backpacks. I got Ashleigh a horse necklace from Zulily. Noah got a soccer (piggy) bank. I think we got them both something else, but right now I can not remember. Today I got Ethan a backpack. Can you guess who is on this backpack? Yes, BATMAN!!
We got Noah a few supplies like folders, glue sticks, notebooks, 3 inch binder, ruler, and a pencil box. Still need some more things, but it is a start. I need to lapel everything for him. His name & subject on the notebooks & folders. Walmart had great prices for notebooks, glue sticks, folders, etc!
At another store, I did a school clothes layaway. Noah and Ethan was easy!! Ashleigh took a little bit of time. This year Ash wanted ALL skirts. Of course, we had Noah saying "Are we done yet?" Typical guy question. I normally take them separate, but Shawn was working longer than normal since his relief called off. Plus I wanted to get it over with.
I am thinking of doing a teacher packet for Ashleigh's new teacher. What do you think? Ashleigh was to have this teacher last year, but we decided to keep her at the school where she was. A lot of things has changed since we had that meeting with this new teacher. I am thinking this teacher packet might be a good idea. With a special needs child, things can change so much. Ashleigh has PPD-NOS now. If her new teacher is not up to date with her IEP, then bit of information is key. I do not really want a packet. I am more thinking of a note. A packet to me seems more of work then I have right now.
Off to bed. Night all!
