Christmas

I can't believe it is almost Christmas. This year has gone fast. Ethan's birthday is next month and he will be 6. I am not sure what we will do for his birthday.  It feels like it was just July and we finished all of our kids' birthdays. Here in a month we will be starting over.

The boys had their last day of school Friday and now they are on break. Ashleigh had 2 more days: Monday and Tuesday before she is on her break. I brought some crafts for the kids to do over break. The boys and I will be working on the craft that we did for their teachers.  We are making one for the principal, Ethan's other kindergarten teacher, and the secretary.  Plus one for us.  I have a photo of the Olaf craft, but it is on my cell and I am typing this up on my iPad.

Shawn has Christmas off. We plan to go to mass in the morning.  A movie night in the evening.

For next year, we plan to do our Christmas different.  We plan to give a gift in the following 4 areas:
-want
-need
-read
-wear

Each year we give a game and a movie so we will continue that, too. We also want to adopt a kid to do Christmas, but we are thinking of the wounded warrior project.   We want our kids to know the reason for Christmas. Ethan says the reason is "Jesus". He is correct. At his Christmas class party, his one kindergarten teacher asked the class the reason for Christmas and that is what Ethan told her and his class. I feel like Christmas has become more commercialized over the years.

Merry Christmas everyone!!
Melissa
