How do you display your kids' artwork that they make at school? What do you do with it all? Save everything? Throw out some?
I love the idea that you can use the art work that your kids' made at school for very cute displays of Art. It does not cost a lot to do. I have framed their art work. I am looking for 8x11 frames so I can do more framing in our hallway. I am even thinking of doing some for Christmas gifts.
I had our art wall for years. Not really sure any many years that is. Probably when Ash started Kindergarten. She is going into the 6th grade in the Fall. It has been on this one wall (was 2) for as long as I can remember (I will have to find a picture). This art wall was bigger at 1 time. I am in the middle of redoing our art wall. During the school year, it is where I display the kids' artwork that they bring home. I am not sure if I have a picture of the before, but it looked something like this:
(from this site: Dollar Store Crafts)
I did not have stars on the end. I just used ribbon with the clothes pin that I painted. I used push pins to keep the ribbon onto the wall. I love the idea of the stars.
I was looking at other blogs for ideas. I saw one that used a yard stick. But, I would had painted the yard stick then added painted clothes pins to it. This way I would not have to keep putting the ribbon back up since it fell a lot. Instead of using a yard stick, I found leftover wood from something in the one closet when I cleaned it out. Nice! I am in the middle of painting them, adding some creativeness to them, then adding the painted clothes pins. Then, my husband will put them up where I need them.

I need to start to work on this art wall again. I have the wood painted the colors that Ashleigh & Noah wanted. Now to think of what to do next. I want it to be creative, but I am stuck.
Here is the colors the kids chose:
Plus you get an idea how big/wide the wood is.
Finished product after the 1st coat
I did more than 1 coat. I think in the end it was 3 coats especially for the pink. I was thinking of taking white & using painter's tape to tape off an rectangular to paint. This would be where the clothes pins would be at. I was also thinking of putting the kids' names of their 'stick'. Maybe a signing!
Pictures to come of our new art wall once I get unblocked! lol.
Another idea for an art wall, but with wood!
When I was searching other blogs, I came across this blog. Take a look. I love this idea. I don't have room for this, but if we ever move, I would definitely make the room for this wall.
