Our Biggest Stress

What is your biggest stress?  I saw this on a Facebook Page and I wished I would had kept who posted it.  I think it was The Today Show.  In your family, do you have a stress that is ultimate?  I am using the word Ultimate on purpose because it was the word of the day for Noah and Ethan last Wednesday.

Our biggest stress is our daughter's health.  Ashleigh has a neurological disease called HSP, which is taking away her ability to walk.  This affects all of us especially Ashleigh and our son, Noah, who is 10.  Noah gets upsets that he does not get the attention that his sister gets.  Add in that he has ADHD and ODD.  Our youngest, Ethan, isn't affected yet.

Our biggest stress is not just about Ashleigh's HSP getting worse, but her relationship with her brother.  Ashleigh also has PPD-NOS.  She does not always feel the right way.  I can not explain it.  Let's say someone falls.  Ashleigh does not show that she cares that someone fell.  I hope that explains what I mean.  Noah does not understand much about PPD-NOS and what it means to have an autistic sister, but we are working with Ashleigh's therapists to help him understand.

We have to move because of Ashleigh's HSP is getting worse.  I am working on a post about this.  My husband and I learned a long time ago we have to be a team.  We need to work together on everything that comes before us.

I am thinking of doing a series in the month of December about how life is with a special needs child.  I won't hide the ugliness from you all.  I am thinking it is time to write everything.  What do you think?
