As mothers, we make decisions that can affect our children's future. We think have we made the right decision. I started this blog entry awhile ago. I could not find the words to finish it. I only got the first 2 sentences.
In the beginning of the school year, we had a big decision to make. Should we move? Right now we live in a 2 bedroom mobile home. Our decision was a YES!! We were offered to take over my mother in law's house. It is a great house, but it has 12 steps to get to the front porch's 2 steps. Something that we had to discuss in details due to Ashleigh's condition, Spastic Paraparesis (that did take a while to learn to spelll & not look it up!). We decided that we can have a rap put in for her. We already have the location to where it would go plus it would connect to the front porch. Inside the house we can have 1 of those chair lifts for her to get to the her bedroom. Noah is having a hard time with Ashleigh's condition & her bad behavior, sharing a room with his baby brother so we thought this move would be good for him. Ashleigh is so excited now. I told her that her brothers would be on the floor ABOVE her. Now what sister would say, no mom, I don't want to move after hearing that!! She was so happy with that Pro. There were more pros than cons on our list. We would have our good friends closer to us. We can help them more & they can help us. Both kids will be in the same town/city for school. Something that is not now. It is a + to me!!
We decided to wait to move until June so we did not have to start the kids in a new school again in the school year. A new school district. I was not too sure about this new school district. Not because of anything bad, but because of Ashleigh's special program. I called the school district about her Life Skills program. Ask some questions. They have this program in every building in their school district, but in the elementary, it is only in 1. We already saw the elementary school when we thought about moving to this town before. We know Noah will love it there next year & Ash will be at the Junior High.
We will have 4 bedrooms, a playroom & craft room in the basement. I need to decide where I want my chalkboard wall or do I want it to be a dry erase board wall? Decisions!
My mother in law is going where you ask? She is retiring South. My sister in law & her husband are moving, too, with her. My sister in law has wanted to go South for a long time. No snow. Sounds great to me. We will visit them on the way down to my parents, who are in Florida!! We will miss them all, but are very happy for them. Plus we get to go see them in a beautiful location.
I will be writing about packing, & moving. Of course, Ash & Noah starting new schools. I am not looking forward to packing, moving, & then unpacking.
I will be working on an update on Ashleigh. We got bad news on Tuesday along with bad news on me, too, but I am not ready to talk about me yet.
