New Chalkboards!! Part 1

I thought I would have to wait until spring to do my chalkboards, but it warmed up in January.  Yea! We did not have enough chalkboard paint from the last time (old place-post here) so off to Home Depot I went.  If you ever want to do this, Home Depot is the place to go.  They have the chalkboard paint that can be tinted.  Our Lowe's does not carry it.  Not sure if your Lowe's has it or not.  I was going to make it myself, but then thought what if I did not match the paint when I ran out.  It was just easier to buy it.  It was not that much more than the regular chalkboard paint.

Anyway, I decided to get a can of black & a tintable can.  Shawn helped me pick out the color- Latte.  The perfect color!  On the way home, I was thinking how I could do this differently.  How could I could be creative this time?

I think I did it!  I think I was more creative.  We used frog tape.  We do so much better with frog tape, but we still get a little paint bleed.  We wanted to do each door differently.  I took my time & enjoyed painting.  I did not care about the pain.  It took us longer than it would had before I got hurt.  

The first door I am using it for a job list for all of us with the kids drawing on the bottom.  I knew on the way home I would do this chalkboard this way.  The top would be opposite of the bottom!  I told Noah I wanted to add some detail.  He said to draw a husky on it.  He is that husky crazy.  I don't think I could.  Maybe.  So, Noah came up with the penguin idea!

All done!! There are 5 penguins here.  Do you know why?  The bottom 2 are me & Shawn with Ashleigh on the right.  The boys are on the bottom right!  Like the G on the top left corner!

The other door is a weekly chalkboard of what we need to do each week so we don't forget anything.  I really need this.  

I forgot I had 2 meetings.  On my drive home from Home Depot, I knew how I wanted this chalkboard.  Stripes!!  I did not know that I would be doing the SMTWTS until after it was all done!

All done!!  Now why would I have 2 penguins here.  One represents Zeus (the one near the T because that one is bigger).

Now we have to wait 2 more days until we can condition them. More pictures to come of that.

What do you think?  I absolutely love them.  Now to wait to use them.........I can't.......I want to use them now.....
