Penguins on Parade

On Sunday, my friend & I took our kids to the zoo where they had a parade of the penguins!  The kids loved it.

We saw the elephants, sharks, tigers, lions, and of course penguins!! photo IMG_4621bx3_zpsd65ebf16.jpg

This penguin was very close to the boys during the penguin parade.  The kids love it.
This is a King Penguin.  This is Noah's favorite penguin!

Aren't they just so cute? These are Gentoo Penguins.

This one kept hopping away.  This is a Rockhopper Penguin.

I can not tell what type of penguin this is.  I will look at the original photos tomorrow & update you then.  This was one penguin, who wanted to escape.  He tried very hard.  Up the hill he went.  He even got on his belly at one time (pic #3).  I think in pic #4 he is thinking "I can't get away this time.  I will join the others at the parade.  I tried!"  This was right in front of us.  It was funny to watch.  I do have a video of the end of the parade to share.  It is on my desktop & I am on my laptop.  I uploaded all of the to the one site I use for photos so I could come up to my bedroom to use my laptop.

We had to visit the other penguins!

I like to take some photos somewhere in the zoo.  I could had some cute pics in front of the polar bear, but people got in my way.  Grrr.  We went to the zoo this day with my friend & her 2 kids.  We also took pictures with her 2 kids.  Trying to get 5 kids to smile at the camera at the same time is so much fun!

This was our first time going in February.  We normally don't go earlier than April.  Maybe March, but it depends on the weather.  Now if we went yesterday we would not have Ethan dressed like this.  He would not keep his winter coat on.  Ethan wanted his mickey mouse jacket only.  Anyway, it was 16 degrees F with snow on the ground.  It would had been something to see how the penguins reacted to the snow, but having the kids in that cold weather is not good.

When was the last time you went to the zoo?
