Headaches!
I get them almost daily. After Ethan was born, I was diagnosed with migraines. I was getting headaches & dizzy spills. Those dizzy spells was so hard with a newborn. We had to have Ethan brought to me or if I was on my own, I brought Ethan to me. He was in the bassinet. I can remember that time very clearly. It was awful. My headaches/migraines are still bad, but no dizzy spells like back then. I could not drive at time.
Anyway, Noah started getting headaches. He came home from school with a headache on March 5. Noah missed school on March 6 & 7 because his headaches were that bad. The one of those days we had to give him both Advil & Tylenol every 3 hours because that is how bad his headaches were. Since March 5, Noah has had 19 days with headaches. Any noise can set him off with one. Just like me.
On March 5, I called Noah's pediatrician & spoke with his nurse, who told me to do the Advil & Tylenol every 3 hours. If Noah's headaches got worse, then I would have to go to the ER for stronger medication. His headaches went away.
The headaches returned on the night of March 14. Noah saw the pediatrician the following day. He was not sure if this is migraines, allergies, or his eyes. Noah's eyes needs to be checked, but the eye insurance won't allow Noah to be seen until April 5. His appointment was made for that day. Noah has an appointment with his Asthma/Allergist for April 23rd (his birthday) for a check up, but I will be asking questions about allergies & headaches. My sister in law has theories about migraines & allergies. Her daughter has migraines & has them in clusters associated with allergies. I wonder if this is the same with Noah or could it be his eyes. Noah's pediatrician gave Noah medication for a sinus infection. He was not sure. It was for 10 days. It worked for a for about 5 days, but the headaches came back on March 20, no headache on March 21, & headache on March 23.
The morning of March 23 (Friday) Noah woke up with a headache. I took him to school. I spoke with his teacher about his headache, that I gave him Advil that morning, & that I have a headache & I have to do everything I have to do so does Noah. I stop off at the nurses station to pick up a form that the school requires us parents fill out for Advil/Tylenol to be given out. This is different at this school by us providing the medication. The other school district provided it. I stopped off at the pediatrician office to drop off the form & to ask what to do about Noah's headaches because the pediatrician told me to call within a week if they did not go away. I waited until Friday to see how bad his headaches were, to see if they went away, & they did not.
The nurse called me that Friday. I am to take Noah to see a pediatric neurologist. That appointment is on May 7th. We are taking him to see Ashleigh's neurologist since we are familiar with her.
Since March 5, Noah has had 8 days without a headache. This is not good. He has his eye appointment next week. We will learn if he needs glasses. If he does, then we will have to wait for them to be made. Then, we will have to wait to see if this is the problem of his headaches.
I wrote everything into Noah's asthma journal. I will take it with me to all of these appointments. I can not believe these headaches came at of no where.
I am not sure what we will learn.
