Wow, listen to that! No noises right now. (just me typing) No kids whining about something. No pups running around chasing each other. I am enjoying this minute because it won't last long!
Life with 2 huskies is never boring!
Zeus is laid back now, but when Bolt gets Zeus moving, watch out! I mean it! They will push you over. Ashleigh knows this all too well, but she still loves them. Now at times, Ashleigh will go somewhere "safer" for her so they don't push her over like when we get home & Noah & I leave the out of their crates. Zooooom Zeus goes up the stairs. I always leave him out first. Zoooooom goes Bolt up the stairs. I have to hurry up those stairs & I can not stop to do anything like laundry (did that once) or Bolt will pee in the house. Well, he is a puppy still & he is still learning the do & don't's of potty training. Hell, so am I! (I need help & a book.) Do you know how long it has been since I potty trained a puppy? I mean house trained a puppy. I am potty training Ethan.
I have a box of toys for the pups. We put them in, they take them out, we put them in, they take them out. You see the routine to this right? I just replaced this small box a week since Bolt was sitting in it. He is not as small as he used to be! I need to replace this box again. Now if I could get the pups to put their toys away! Noah received 2 training books (1 is a workbook) for Easter. He wants to train the pups to do this! I would be happy with down with Bolt. The common commands- sit, down, stay, lay. Am I missing any? Noah wants to teach Bolt to play soccer. We will see.
It is never boring in our home either. Bolt is always off & running with something in his mouth like a pen, pencil, paper, a toy, a sock. A few days ago we thought he swallowed a sock of Ashleigh's, but we were not sure because Bolt likes to hide things from us. I was cleaning up a mess that Bolt left me. I left the bathroom door open because I was going back between the mess & the bathroom. Ashleigh left socks on the bathroom floor. Bolt likes to run off with things in his mouth. It does not matter what it is. A sock, crayon, pencil, paper. This is a game to him. Bolt likes it when we chase him. I called our vet, who did not know what to tell us, but to call the emergency vet. So I called them & they said that he would need x-ray to see if he did swallow it & the sock would show up. It could pass. We are lucky it is not an adult sock, but a child sock (Ashleigh's sock). I called my vet back to tell them about what the emergency vet said. Noah found the soaked sock. I was confused on what to do. We did not know if he swallowed it or not. I decided to wait. So, the vet told me to soak 2 slices of bread in mil & let Bolt drink/eat it. It will help him. We decided not to chase Bolt when he has something in his mouth since he thinks it is a game. He loves it. We learned to keep everything off of the floor especially socks, crayons, pencils. You get the picture!! I do not want this to happen again. Yes, Bolt can grab them from the coffee table or the dining room table. This pup is smart as hell!
The day before the Birthday party (Saturday, April 28th) we had both Zeus & Bolt in their crates while my friend, Sandy & I cleaned. It was easier on us to have them there. Zeus likes to follow me EVERYWHERE!! We mopped, vacuum, swept floors. You named it. Hid boxes (many) in my room or in the basement.
~Mopped the dining room.
~Vacuum the living room & the front porch. The front porch was awful.
~Vacuum the throw rugs in front of the front door & in hallway, but waited to do the mopping until the day of the party.
~Vacuum the steps to the second floor.
~Clean the bathroom sink, toilet, tub, swept the floor.
~Swept the Second Floor under the throw rugs.
~Vacuum the throw rugs Second Floor.
I forgot about Zeus' separation anxiety. I had him in his crate too long. Zeus started chewing a few holes in his crate. The one is on the right side when you look at his crate. His crate is the kind that you can use if Zeus needs to be flown somewhere, which I would never do because of his separation anxiety. I think he would escape! Zeus has done that here.
During the Birthday party (Sunday, April 29th), we have to had Bolt in his Crate. Bolt didn't howl too badly! He likes to sing to us at time. ;) I decided that Zeus could not handle another day in his crate when we are in the house. When the kids arrived, we met them outside. Zeus was inside. I had the kids play outside until all the kids were here. Before we came inside, I explain to the kids about Zeus' separation anxiety & what that means. I told them that he does not like to be alone, that yesterday while we were getting ready for the party he chewed some holes in his crate & I was afraid that today he would hurt himself, he likes to be with me. When the kids went into the house, I had them put their hands out so Zeus would smell them. Zeus loved every kid that came. 2 of the parents from our old neighbor came & the dad Zeus had to remember. Zeus growled at first then he was licking his hand.
I am seriously thinking it is time to get Zeus the Thundershirt. I think it could help him. I also need to replace the refill for Zeus dap for his separation anxiety. I wish I would have never ran out of this.
I found this tag in my collection. It looks something like Bolt, but he is more gray. It has that look like "Yes, I was bad, but please don't be mad at me!"
