Saying a prayer for New Town, CT

Yesterday's tragedy can happen anywhere at anytime.  Please keep New Town, CT in your hearts, prayers, & thoughts when this small town heals.  I keep thinking how can one heal from losing 20 children & 6 adults from one school?

I want to share with you all what I found out.  The first grader teacher shot her name was Miss Victoria Soto.  She has information on the school's site.  Please take the time to go there & read it.  There is a great photo of her with her black lab, Roxie.  Click HERE.  This teacher is a hero in my eyes.  She protected her students.  She died for them by hiding them in the closet & telling the shooter they were in the gym.

The Principal Dawn Hochsprung ran towards the gun shots (via this site).  Another hero in my eyes.

When tragedies like this happens, it stops us & makes us thinks.  Like "what if this happens in my kids' schools?"  We have to believe that the school's principals & high ups have our kids security under control.  We can not allow our fear to get out of control & go onto our children.  We need to live our lives as we would.  We can not allow control to go to people, who go into malls, schools, churches, etc.  We have to take back that control.

This has me scared for another reason.  My brother is an Assistant Principal now.  He just took the job about 2 months or so ago.  I am very proud of him.  I think those kids are very lucky to have him.  I do not want to lose my brother in a tragedy like this.

Let's say a prayer to protect our children, teachers, & principals in our schools across the US.  Not only them, but also the police officers, firefighters, EMT, paramedics, etc.

Melissa
