Getting Organized

This is one of the ones I had done, but I wanted to add a few finishing touches to it before I published it, but something happened.  I will get to this in a little bit. (All in Red is today's)


I love being organized.  At times I think I am then something happens & I find out I am not as organized as I thought I am.  Do you have those areas where you try & try & try to reduce the clutter, but nothing helps?  I have 2 areas for this: 1 area of my kitchen counter & my dining room table.

With us moving in about 7 months, I am going to get organize as much as possible.  I will be sharing everything with you all.  We have not moved in 12 years (Jan 2012 makes it 12 yrs).  When we moved here, I was pregnant with Ashleigh.  We have a lot more stuff than we did when we moved in all those years ago.  


This was the plan, but things are moving up sooner.  We saw my mother in law last night.  She is leaving in early January instead of the Spring.  She had some good points for us.  While my brother in law is here (he is leaving in January, too), why don't we pack what we don't use & have Shawn & him bring it over?  After she leaves, I can organize it then in the house.  Makes sense.  Right?  I can get my chalkboard doors painted, too, but in the spring.

Our plans is going to be in steps.  This was my original plan, but I will add in red what I plan to do now.

1. Christmas

- Dining room table need to go over to my mother in law's before our Christmas tree is up.  Before we moved the table into the kitchen, but we can't do that with Zeus's crate in there.  
I still plan to do this, but the table will be one of the first items to go along with whatever I pack up.  We got boxes last night from our little store.  Shawn is planning to bring home boxes from work.  They had a few move in's at the Retirement location of his work.  Let the fun begin!!  I thought I had months to take my time, but if I want the help, I need to get busy. 

- After we take down the Christmas tree & the rest of the Christmas decorations, they will be going over, too.  It does not make sense to put them away to move them months later.
I still plan to do this.  

- I plan to go through Ashleigh's closet at this time, too, since all the Christmas decoration & the tree is kept in her closet.  

I still plan to do this.  I have a baby swing I plan to sell.  I also have the walker from the boys, but my neighbor has a grandson so I will ask him if his daughter wants it.  I give her all of Ethan's clothes he outgrows.  I love giving  her his clothes because I know she needs them & it is easier on me since Ethan is our baby.

2. Dining Room

- This is where I plan to store all the boxes I pack from March- the time we move.

I still plan to do this, but a lot earlier than March.  

3. Spring time

- All winter clothes will be packed up & moved over, too.  I plan to packed them up into their own boxes so it is easier on me later on.  Normally I pack whatever in each box.

- I may take over the Easter items at this time, too, since it will be around this time.

I still plan to do this.  I will add more boxes to this run, too.

4. Going through everything

-If I have not used it in months-years, then it will be given to someone else or thrown out.

-All boxes will be labeled where to go.
I still plan to do this, but I was planning to start in April.  Not now.  I plan to start TODAY!!  


5. Halloween
I have a box of Halloween costumes.  I plan to pack this up along with all decorations.  I have those trick or treat pumpkins, containers that we got from McDonald's from Halloween that needs to be packed up.


6. The Kitchen
The kitchen is the first place I plan to start after I reorganize my dining room table.  I mean clean it off.  I want to clean off the coffee table, too, so I can put the boxes there.  


7. The Boys' Closet
I think this is a good spot to clean out.  I have Noah's old clothes in boxes in here for Ethan.  The clothes too big for Ethan can go now.


I am off here since I have boxes to pack.  I will take some pics & post them soon.  I am really bad at downloading pics.  Now that we are in the process of going through everything & packing.  I can't promise I can get the pics up here, but I will try.  I am not sure how I will be, too.  My back hates work like this, but I need to work through the pain.  At the end of the day, I will be the one on the couch not being able to move.
