Love this movie, Dolphin Tale

I took Ashleigh, Noah, a friend of Ashleigh from school, & Mary (a friend of ours' daughter) to see Dolphin Tale today.

This was inspired by a true story.  In the movie, a dolphin washed up on the shore & a man & a 11 year old called for help & Clearwater Marine Aquarium came to her rescue.  She was later named Winter.  I was looking for information on what happened to Winter in real life & I found only one article.  Go here to read about her.

"The real Winter, who plays herself in Dolphin Tale, serves as a symbol of courage, perseverance, and hope to millions of people- both able and disabled who have been touched by her remarkable story of recovery and rehabilitation."

I love this sentence above from the Dolphin Tale's website.  This is so true.  This is one of the reasons why I wanted to take Ashleigh & Noah to see this movie.  Winter overcame a lot before & after she lost her tail.  Just like Ashleigh has done & many other kids with disabilities.  We need to remember what they have accomplished..

Winter is an inspiration to us all.  I love this article, too.  I love how she has inspired kids with disabilities like Megan. If Winter has inspired you, let me know in the comment area.

"I didn't like wearing my limb," says Megan, who lost her left leg in a fire as an infant in Latvia, prior to being adopted by her American parents. "But Winter wears her tail, so it makes sense for me to wear my leg, so I can be an inspiration to others."  (from article above)

Check out the trailer from the movie!

Here is an article from Sept 2006: Click here.

Coloring pages of dolphins are here.

Activity sheets for the kids (Winter) are here.

I love this song, Safe by Westlife.  It is played at the end of the movie.

Dolphin Tale is available on DVD on December 20, 2011.

If you have not seen this movie, we suggest it is worth it.
