Noah & Ashleigh received their report cards yesterday. They were only there I think 12 days in this grading period.
Noah's grades:
Reading B
Writing/English A
Math B
Spelling C
We are working on Noah's spelling. It is different at the new school. The words are a little harder than he is used to. Plus on Friday, Noah had a Unit Spelling Test, which was 5 weeks of spelling words. Ten of the 15 words each week was put on this paper. Then, the kids are tested on only 25 out of the 50 words. Noah has never had a unit test before. A friend of my told me her daughter started this in second grade, which is the grade Noah is in. We are in a different school district. This is another difference. Another difference for Noah is that he only has Reading, Writing/Reading, Math & Spelling. When Noah went to Ashleigh's school, he had both science & social studies, but only social studies in the school before the one he is in now.

Ashleigh's grades is different because of her IEP. Normally we get a copy of her updated IEP, but we received a paper about her progress. This is ok with me. Do you know any many IEPs I have since preschool? Yes, I have them all.
Ashleigh is in a life skills support classroom. She has reading classes inside the LSS & as well as the Learning Support class (LS). Her handwriting & language is in the LSS class. Regular education classes are: music, art, & library with a LSS paraprofessional. She also has Adapted PE with her LSS class.
She is reading at the green (4th) level. I am not sure if this means 4th grade. I want to ask her teacher. In the LSS class, she works on written language skills, handwriting, reading of protective vocabulary words and 37/50 lunch words.
In math, they use the Touchmoney method of counting coins. She can count with mixed amount of change up to $1.00 with 100%. She does not yet count the half dollar. She adds multidigit numbers with regrouping with 80% accuracy. She subtracts 2-digit mumbers with regrouping with 90% accuracy. Ashleigh work slowly & is easily distracted while doing worksheet. Ashleigh tells time to 5-minute intervals with 100% accuracy and to the 1-minute intervals with 25% accuracy.
Handwriting is at the blue level of the Handwriting Without Tears Programs. This level refines the formation of lower case letters and works on spacing, punctation, and reducing size. She is able to write her name in cursive with a model.
I am hoping I can download some pictures tomorrow or later on this week. I want to take some pics of the house before I download them.
