Day 1: Blessedx3

Welcome!

I am Blessed x3.  I never thought we would have 3 kids, but here we are. It can be crazy at times, or quiet (go check them).  I love hearing Ashleigh, Noah, & Ethan laughing together.  It is the best sound to me- Children laughter.

I am not going to go into how Ashleigh came into this world, but I am going to tell you that we planned for Ashleigh.  It took me 9 months to get pregnant with Ash.  The best thing about being pregnant with Ashleigh was my best friend, Sandy, was also pregnant.  Our due dates were a day apart (My was June 11 and her was June 12).  Ashleigh had it in her own mind that she wanted to come a week early.  My water broke and that was it.  Sandy's daughter, Mary, was born 10 days there.
Ashleigh was born on:
June 4 @ 3:19p

and 20 inches long

Ashleigh has been through so much in her life.  I give so much credit to her physical therapist and occupational therapists in the beginning.  They helped her so much by teaching her how to walk, crawl, jump, write, and so much more.  We do not know how Ashleigh's future will be, but I know she will try her best.   Ashleigh wants to be an artist when she is older.  I am looking for an art table for her.  One that I can paint and make her own.  To reflect her.

I love this photo of Ashleigh holding her baby brother, Noah, for the first time.  She wasn't happy at all that she was going to be a big sister.  She wanted a sister, not a brother.  She told us that she wanted him to go back where he came from (I think not!!)

Noah was also planned.  I just started a new job and I found out I was pregnant.  I did not go back to that job after Noah was born.  Noah was 2 1/2 years old when I went back to work.  A job that was 50+ hours a week.  I miss so much when I was working.

Noah was born on:
April 23 @ 10:56a
weighing 6 lbs 11 oz
and 19 inches long

I knew Noah was going to be a boy even though we were told girl, boy, boy during the ultrasounds (I had more with both boys due to their sister's abnormal brain).  I also knew Ethan was going to be a boy.  How?  Easy.  My mom had me, then 2 boys.  I knew I would follow her.  I have always wondered what we would have after Ethan, but I am not to have anymore kids (reason with Ethan).

Noah has been through a lot in his life, too.  He learned that his sister is not like anybody's else sister.  He learned what Autism is and what HSP is.  He had to come to live with that his sister is losing her ability to walk, maybe not drive a car like he will, not walk like he can, not jump like him and what happens when Ashleigh can not accept it.

Ethan's story is what we needed at that time.  I got hurt on the job in 2007.  I always wonder why, but maybe I am to know what it is like to have pain since I have a daughter that lives in pain every day.  Maybe I am needed home more than I am at a job.  My life changed that day in April (24th).

I had back surgery in December 2007.  It was a long road to recovery.  I had pain going down my leg after surgery, which was not the case before surgery.  Every time I sat up I wanted to scream.  I had to have PT on my right foot because of the pain going down my right leg into my foot.  6 months after my surgery, we found out on Ashleigh's 8th birthday that we were having a baby.  I kept saying "I can't be pregnant", but there I was pregnant.

It was a hard pregnancy to go through, but well worth it.  I refused to take any pain meds.  I dealt with the pain.   My back hurt a lot, but when Ethan got bigger, the sciatica pain was so much worse since I have screws in my spine.

Ethan was having so much fun with us.  I had 3 different times where I went into Pre Term Labor.  A week before Thanksgiving, early December, and New Year's Eve (Shawn's birthday).  The early December one was where I had to take Ashleigh and Noah with me and it was snowing so badly, but we made it safely.  The nurse couldn't check me when the kids were in the room.  Noah was singing to his sister to calm her down.  The New Year Eve was a little bit scary.  Shawn was working when I told him I had to go into the ER for Pre Term Labor with bleeding.  I had to have the kids pack a bag for them since I was not allowed to be on my feet.  I told them where everything was and they brought it to me to put in their bag.  They went to our friend's house (Sandy).

Ethan is such a joy.  He is our miracle.  Ethan is so sweet.  He says that he will always be good.  I am grateful that Ethan does not understand what Ashleigh is going through.  I know one day I will have to explain it to him, but we are not there yet.  I want him to have this time where he does not know much.

I hope you enjoyed looking back as much as I have.
