Day 23: Nonfiction Books

The other day when I was writing my 31 days on Reading, I only wrote about Romance books.  I love to read Nonfiction books, too.  I love going to find books that I can learn from.

After I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I wanted a book or 2 that I could read to help me with my gluten free diet.  I was lost and at times I still am.  There are several names for gluten that I needed to look for in the ingredient lists.  This book, The G-Free Diet: A Gluten Free Survival Guide by Elisabeth Hasselback, helped me a lot.  I see it as my "bible" to Celiac Disease.  I love that Hasselback included her family recipes like meatballs.  I miss meatballs.  I need to make them soon.

One of the books I am currently reading is Jennifer's Way: My Journey with Celiac Disease- What Doctors Won't Tell You and How You Can Learn To Live Again by Jennifer Esposito.  She tells her readers that we need to ask questions about why we are feeling the way we are.  She is so right.  Not every doctor knows about Celiac Disease.  There are so many symptoms.  Over 300.

I won this book, The Complete Guide to Living Well Gluten Free: Everything You Need to Know to Go from Surviving to Thriving by Beth Hillson, and I am loving it.  I love learning about diseases that we are dealing with.  I do not just read one book, but several.  I will be doing a review on this book once I am done with it.

Right now I am reading In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Powerful of Cheerful Giving by Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy.  The Tuohy's adopted Michael Oher when he was struggling in his life before he became a NFL player.  I loved the movie, The Blind Side, and knew it was based on a true story.  I wanted to read the Tuohy's book.  The next book I will be reading is the one Michael Oher wrote and it's titled I Beat the Odds: From Homelessness, to the Blind Side, and Beyond.  Once I am done with these 2 books, I will write up a post about them.  So far, I am enjoying the writings of the Tuohy's.  There was a part from Sandra Bullock and Michael Ohr.

What nonfiction books are you reading?  I would love to know.  I am always looking for books to read.
