I hate Celiac Disease. Every day I worry about what I put into my mouth by drinks or food. Last night I was having bad stomach aches wondering what I ate or drank that is making me feel so sick. Stomach aches started 2 days ago, but has gotten worse last night. Ethan gets these bad stomach aches if he eats too much gluten. He is gluten intolerance.
This happens to me several times a year. If I go out to a restaurant, I have to make sure the waitress knows what Celiac Disease is. It is not an allergy, but an autoimmune response to Gluten. Some do a great job telling the person who will be cooking my food. Some do not and that reflects in my food. I make sure I tell the waitress that the grill where my food is made has to be cleaned prior to cooking my food. The last time I went out to eat was the best of all the times since I was diagnosed. The waitress was great and told the cook that the grill had to be cleaned. I did not get sick.
I am feeling much better today. No stomach aches! I know what made me so sick. A chocolate candy bar with almonds. I did not see anything in the ingredient list, but I am not sure if it was this candy bar. Maybe the ice cream I had on National Ice Cream Day (September 30).
Thanks for reading! If you know of someone with Celiac Disease or have it yourself, leave a comment to how you are feeling lately. I would love to chat with you.
Melissa
